March 20, 2025Khutso Theledi (born 23 March 1991) is a South African radio presenter, MC, voiceover artist, and motivational speaker. She is best known for hosting the show “Break Away With Khutso Theledi on Metro FM.
The former YFM’s Krunch show is loved for her catchphrase, “A hi fambeni“. She has won many awards and co-hosted the Metro FM breakfast show in 2022.

Early Life
Khutso Theledi was born on 23 March 1991 in Hazyview, Mpumalanga, South Africa. Her father died when she was two years old. She grew up with her mother, brothers, and sisters.
Theledi started going to boarding school when she was five years old. She did not listen to much of the radio as a child. She was never shy and would stand in front of the class, although many people teased how deep her voice was.
Education
Theledi did public speaking and debate in one of the best schools and did drama in high school. She studied media communications at Monash University and journalism, public relations, and radio (sound engineering) at Boston Media House.
Career

Khutso started working as a traffic presenter and newsreader at Y, formerly known as YFM, for Flava In The Morning with Mo Flava on 2 April 2012. Mo Flava and Tumelo Diaho-Monaheng discovered her while she was a student at Boston Media House.
She landed cameo on the television musical drama series Rhythm City. She did a voiceover for Boston Media House when she was in her first year of study,
In 2017, Khutso was the face of the Sony Xperia XA 1. She became Y’s first female to independently host a drive-time show in 2021.
In 2022, Khutso began co-hosting the breakfast show with Mo Flava on Metro FM. She hosts Break Away with Khutso Theledi on Metro FM from 9 AM to 12 PM on weekdays.
Khutso later co-hosted The Freeway and The Raw Rush with Thulisa Kanzi for two years. She also hosted Krunch Time and R&B Hot 9 Charts on YFM.
Theledi has won multiple awards as a radio broadcaster. She has won the 2017 Ebony Life TV Sisterhood Award for TV Personality of the Year, the 2018 On-Air Personality Award at The Future Awards, and the Basadi In Music Awards for Entertainment Radio Presenter of the Year.
Apart from being a radio personality, Theledi was a netballer and played for the South African netball team.
Personal Life
Khutso Theledi is married to her Italian husband, Wamina (as she calls him). The couple were together for five years before tying the knot.
Her husband proposed marriage to her at Anantara Bazaruto Island Resort in Mozambique. She does not have any children.
Theledi loves exotic cars. She first drove a BMW 118i 3-Door auto. She then changed her ride in 2019. She had an accident on her way to work in 2012 when her Coza collided with a Range Rover in Sandton.
