Faith Mangope (born 7 November 1986) is a South African broadcaster and businessperson best known for hosting Talk with Faith Mangope on Metro FM.

Mangope is also an accomplished property owner and investor. She also anchored Sunrise on e.TV and hosts Power Lunch on Power FM 987. She is the co-founder of the private tech solutions company FMTALI-Tech.

Early Life

Faith Mangope was born on 7 November 1986 into a family of four children, of which she is the eldest. She comes from rural Nelspruit, Mpumalanga, South Africa. She grew up with her mother and had a stepfather, who later walked out on the family.

The businesswoman became the sole provider of her family. She helped her mother provide for her younger siblings as she struggled with her marital collapse. Faith raised enough to pay off the family’s home at 26.

Education

Faith Mangope majored in International relations and industrial psychology at the University of the Witwatersrand and studied at the University of Texas in Austin.

Career

Faith received a call from the White House to give a speech on the development of the African continent while she was studying at the University of Texas in Austin.

As a broadcaster, Faith hosted Talk with Faith Mangope on the commercial radio station Metro FM on economic and socio-political discussions on the program, which had over 4 million listeners.

She has founded the Faith Mangope Technology and Leadership Institute to empower women with the skills required to find work. She is also passionate about property investment and has invested in low-cost housing opportunities.

Faith bought her first house three-bedroom apartment in Greenstone Ridge. She then decided to buy a second property. Although the banks were skeptical at first, she eventually acquired the property after a few rejections.

Mangope bought a five-bedroom, six-bathroom home during the Level 5 lockdown, making it her third property.

Aside from owning properties, She is also a media personality. She developed and sharpened her skills as an executive producer on shows, including The John Robbie Show. Other shows include Early Breakfast with Udo Carelse, Afternoon Drive with David O’Sullivan, and Talk At Nine on Talk Radio 702.

She co-founded the tech solutions company FMTALI-Tech and former host of The South African Morning on eNCA. She is also the former Station Manager of the urban radio station Massiv Metro.

Faith is the former host of Sunrise, a breakfast television show on e.tv. She hosted the Current Affairs Talk show on YFM for three years.

The Mail and Guardian Power of Women Awards recognized her as one of South Africa’s Powerful Women in 2022.

In 2016, Faith was named one of the Top 200 South Africans by the Mail and Guardian and Top 100 Young South Africans by the Independent Newspapers.

After her induction as a Washington Fellow, Faith was solicited to intern in Africa.Co, making her the first South African. She also founded the founder of FTA Media Communications and the New G in Business Forums.

She also founded the New G App to help graduates access job opportunities. She is a member of the BRICS Business Council Skills Working Group and a lecturer for radio production at Interface Talent Management.

Faith delivered a speech at the Mandela Washington Fellowship for Young African Leaders summit on the development of the African continent in Washington D.C., USA.

Faith served as one of South Africa’s Social Cohesion Advocates after the Department of Arts and Culture appointed her in 2014. She is a solicited speaker for the Malawi Institute of Chartered Accountants Conference in Malawi, amongst many other speaking engagements.

Faith has appeared in many publications, including Glamour Magazine, The Times Newspaper, The Sowetan Newspaper, Destiny Magazine, True Love Magazine, Cleo Magazine, Fairlady, Soul Magazine, Move Magazine, and Drum Magazine.

Personal Life

Faith Mangope is currently single and has no children. The national traffic cops arrested her for clocking 163 km/h in a 100 km/h driving zone on the M1 South in her grey Mercedes-Benz.

She was taken to the Sandton police Station, charged with reckless and negligent driving, and later appeared in the Randburg Magistrate’s Court. She paid R1 000 bail.
