Early Life
Sizwe Dhlomo was born on 21 June 1983 in Durban, KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa, into a family with astute business history.
His grandfather, Isaac Dhlomo, owned a farm during the apartheid era. After passing the KwaZulu-Natal-based farm to his family, they have continued to develop it. They use farmland for forestry, horse breeding, cattle ranching, and cropping.
His parents are still alive and well.
Education
Sizwe Dhlomo completed his studies at Kingsway High School, Amanzimtoti, in 2000. He enrolled in computer programming at the Durban Institute of Technology.
Career
Having obtained a computer programming certificate, Dhlomo started working as a computer programmer. He left the job after he entered and won the MTV Base’s talent contest.
He landed his first job in the music industry as the MTV Base VJ in season one of its World Chart Express.
Dhlomo has interviewed Akon, John Legend, Sean Paul, Brickz, and the Nigerian 2-Face. He also appeared on SABC1’s LIVE alongside Bonang Matheba.
He decided to give radio a try after recording success on the screen and made his debut on YFM and later 947.
The television host has continued to make onscreen appearances. He was among the MTV contingency from across the globe that traveled to the VMAs in Scotland in 2014. He left SABC1 and then channeled his energy towards the radio.
When Dhlomo left 947, he joined Radio 702 and worked as a presenter. He worked as the 959 Breakfast host on KAYA FM after taking over from Dineo Ranaka. He co-presents 959 Breakfast with Sizwe Dhlomo Stand In with Sol Phenduka on Kaya 959.
Apart from radio presenting, Dhlomo is a sought-after Master of Ceremony. He hosted the 16th Annual South African Music Awards (SAMAs) at Sun City. He topped the list of Briefly News’ Top 15 highest-paid South African actors and their net worth in 2025.
The host has also tried acting. In 2009, he appeared in The Tropical Island of Treasure (Zanzibar).
Personal Life
Sizwe Dhlomo is currently single. He has had several relationships in the past. He dated News anchor Poppy Ntshongwana, but the duo has announced their split.
The radio host went on a date with Seipati Moloi. She opened up to Tbose on My Top 10 at 10 for a special interview. He is currently dating Kim De Morny. He shared a rare picture of him and his girlfriend in January 2022.
Sizwe Dhlomo has no children, and says he would not have them until he marries.
