Khanyisa Patricia Jaceni was born on 2 October 1995. She is from Secunda, Mpumalanga, South Africa.

Jaceni was a loner growing up. She sang for her parents during Christmas celebrations. She made up different characters in her head to keep her company.

Career

Khanyisa got her break at the 2017 Vodacom NXT LVL music competition. She made it to the finals.

The Covid-19 pandemic led to her losing her job as a computer-aided draughting operator. She then started doing music, which has always been her first love.

She worked with Kabza De Small and Maphorisa on the song Jikeleza. It did not perform as she expected, so she needed to connect with people who could relate to her story.

Having a social media community contributed to her rise to fame. She launched her Khanyisa YouTube channel in 2015.
