Motaung is the current Kaizer Chiefs Football Manager. He newly formed the Bobby Motaung Foundation, through which he has given back to the people.

Early Life
Bobby Motaung was born on 10 July 1970 in Johannesburg, the capital of Gauteng, South Africa.
He grew up with his parents, Kaizer Motaung, a former South African association football player, and Julegka Valeta Motaung, a former chair lady of the Methodist church.
He has four siblings – two sisters, Jessica Motaung and Kemiso, and two brothers, Kaizer Motaung Jnr and Thabo, who passed away in 2012.
His brother, Kaizer Motaung Jnr, is the current Sporting Director of Kaizer Chiefs.
Career
Bobby Motaung is the Kaizer Chiefs Football Manager. The club made headlines for letting many players go, including Kearyn Baccus and Leonardo Castro.
Motaung and his Co-director Herbert Theledi of Lefika Emerging Equity (Pty) Ltd appeared in court in Nelspruit. They faced allegations against Lefika Emerging Equity (Pty) Ltd on some business dealings by the company.
In 2011, Bobby had a love-hate relationship with Amakhosi fans after he declared that the club was a family business. This followed calls for him to step down by supporters who accused him of interfering in the signing up of players by overruling coaches.
The football manager was arrested in connection with alleged tender irregularities in the building of the R1-billion Mbombela Stadium ahead of the 2010 World Cup. He was later granted bail of R50 000 bail.
In 2021, SARS unleashed liquidators to recover R90 million from Motaung and his business partners for failing to pay their company’s taxes.
In 2012, Bobby revealed he received a salary of R100,000 every month. Bobby also formed the Bobby Motaung Foundation.
Personal Life
Bobby Motaung married Eshler for over 20 years. They have three children, namely Nthabiseng, Moagi, and Lehlohonolo.
In 2024, Motaung filed for a divorce from his wife, and his reasons were that they had irreconcilable differences.
Motaung is a Christian, baptized in the Methodist Church. In 2022, he celebrated his mother’s 76th birthday by giving back to society in Sotweto through his foundation.
