April 11, 2025Bonko Khoza (born 13 August 1991) is a South African actor best known for playing Mqhele in the Showmax telenovela The Wife.
The award-winning actor starred as Zakhele in the SABC1 comedy-drama series 13 Weeks to Find Mr Right. He portrayed twin brothers Sanele and Banele in the Mzansi Magic drama series iTonga in 2025.

Early Life
Bonko Khoza was born on 13 August 1991 in Johannesburg, the capital of Gauteng province of South Africa.
He grew up with his parents and has a brother, an industrial Psychologist, and a sister, who works at the Johannesburg business school.
Education
Bonko Khoza studied Fine Arts at the National School of Arts in 2009. He studied advertising and design for two years before enrolling in Performance and Theatre Skills at The Market Theatre Laboratory.
The actor also signed up at the market theatre and did a two-year course. He went to Vega to do a CBC.
Career
Khoza started acting in 2015 after appearing in the film Necktie Youth. He was a nominee for Best Actor at the 2015 Tribeca Film Festival. He then made his debut television acting debut in 2016 after playing Djatta Koro in the historical drama Roots.
The award-winning actor has also appeared in other films, including Beautifully Broken, The Mauritanian, and Cabin Fever.
He played the recurring guest role in the soap opera Getroud Met Rugby: Die Sepie, making his first appearance in season two in November 2017 and reprised the role in season three.
Khoza portrayed Bank Extra in the Mzansi Magic drama series Abomama in April 2018. He appeared in the Netflix comedy web series How to Ruin Christmas: The Wedding, playing a cameo role of the Guy at Bar in 2020.
In 2020, Khoza landed his first starring role on television as Mqhele Zulu in season one of the Showmax telenovela The Wife. He reprised the role in season two.
He plays Napoleon Dingiswayo, aka The Butcher, in the Showmax drama series Red Ink. He won the 2020 SAFTA Golden Horn in the Best Actor – Telenovela category.
In 2022, Khoza starred as Zakhele in the comedy-drama 13 Weeks to Find Mr. Right on SABC1. He starred as twin brothers Sanele and Banele in the Mzansi Magic drama series iTonga. It premiered on 3 March 2025. He landed a new role in the series City of Gold.
Personal Life
Bonko Khoza married Lesego Khoza on 13 March 2021 during the COVID-19 pandemic. The duo first met in 2013 when they were 22 years old.
After one year of dating, they decided to move in together. They married after being together for eight years and welcomed their first child, Amahubo Amahle, in August 2023. They celebrated their third wedding anniversary in 2024.
